Picture
Matthew and Alison Raymond are working as missionaries in Zambia. They support eduation in poorer communites in Zambia through The Limapela Foundation, which they established in 2008. The Foundation is motivated by the Christian principle of care and compassion for the less fortunate. “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’” (Matthew 25: 37-40 — NIV).

Matthew and Alison  are responsible for directing Limapela's activities in Zambia.

The vision
  • For high standards of practical education within poorer communities in Zambia, based on the Christian values of honesty, compassion, justice, forgiveness and servanthood.
  • For the qualities of self-reliance, imagination and adaptability that are required for the survival of Africa’s young people today.
  • For school communities that are inclusive, supportive, self-sufficient and financially independent.
  • For the support of the vulnerable in both schools and communities, especially those affected by the AIDS pandemic.

Schools
Limapela Development Ltd is now responsible for two rural schools in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia — Limapela Cedric’s  School, near Kitwe, and Luyando Community School, near Ndola. Seven hunder and fifty pupils are enrolled in these two schools and the company employs forty-six people.

Self-sufficiency
Self-sufficiency empowers local communities and gives them dignity. Agri-business projects, including chickens, bananas and vegetables, have been established under the ownership of Limapela Development Ltd. Profits are now contributing to educational running costs and reducing dependency on funding from overseas.

The Limapela Foundation is a New Zealand Registered Charitable Trust (CC32616) under the New Zealand Charities Act 2005.

Judith Jackson
OMF, Taiwan

Picture
Judith Jackson is a missionary with OMF working in the city of Tainan, Taiwan. Tainan is one of Taiwan’s oldest and most traditional cities. It is the site of many historical buildings and also a center of traditional folk religion.

Judith establishes and helps lead high-school fellowships around Tainan in co-operation with Campus Evangelical Fellowship. Her goal is to see a Christian fellowship group in every high school in Tainan. She also leads a local Presbyterian Youth Group (13-18 year olds ) where she trains up the adult and student leaders.

About OMF
OMF International (formerly the China Inland Mission and Overseas Missionary Fellowship) was founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865.

We serve the church and bring the gospel to many of the countries in East Asia, and we have a pioneering ministry in the rest. We help place Christians with professional skills in China and other Asian countries, and share the love of Christ with East Asians worldwide.

Our Mission
We share the good news of Jesus Christ in all its fullness with East Asia's peoples to the glory of God.

Our Vision
Through God's grace, we aim to see an indigenous, biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia, evangelising their own people and reaching out in mission to other peoples.
