The bible is full of ordinary people praying great prayers.
A great prayer does not need a great person to form words in an eloquent and persuasive way so as to manipulate a reluctant God to give them what they want. Often a great prayer is formed in a humble, perhaps broken heart, with a struggle to find the words, perhaps even a heart’s cry rather than words. The greatness of a prayer comes, not from the status of the person praying or from their ability to find the right words, but because it is offered in humble faith to a great God.
